Specially Designed Wristbands Control Access, Combat Counterfeiting and Heighten Security
PDC, the global leader of innovative identification solutions, announced today it will unveil this season’s new patron ID product lines including an expanded selection of its Expressions wristbands, rewearable stretch and woven wristbands, and thermal wristbands.
More than 30 new styles & color options have been added to PDC’s pre-designed Expressions wristband line, which provide a custom look to enhance security, without paying a custom price. Expressions wristbands are available in lightweight & economical Tyvek®, featuring adhesive closures and tamper cuts that shred when pulled apart, and extra durable stretch-resistant plastic with single-use locking snaps to prevent transfer once applied.
PDC’s new, rewearable stretch wristband line provides maximum branding capabilities with custom full-color printing on both sides of the band. Stretch wristbands are constructed from soft, polyester and nylon materials to comfortably adjust to any wrist size, and can be customized with QR codes to integrate with popular social media networks. These ultra-soft, rewearable wristbands are ideal for season pass programs, fundraising campaigns, or for giveaway as promotional/branding items.
“Stretch wristbands are the hottest trend in promotional wristbands. Edge-to-edge full-color printing and the ability to print a QR code on the wristband surface gives venues & brands complete creative control,” said Edwin Baljeu, sales & marketing manager for PDC. “When a patron scans a QR code with their smartphone to share their experience on Facebook or Twitter, that information is directly shared with their entire list of social circles, greatly expanding a brand’s reach and potential prospect pool.”
Additional product PDC line extensions include several new styles and colors of thermal & Tyvek® wristbands for crowd control applications including the new ScanBand® Tabless® thermal wristband to promote litter-free environments. The ID company’s popular woven wristband line is now available with reusable spring closures and extra durable metal closures for multi-day music festivals and events.

Also debuting at WWA is the PDC Smart® SureImage® Wristband. Each wristband contains an RFID tag laminated between tear-resistant polypropylene material with a tamper-evident adhesive closure, making them ideal for single-use applications. Custom full-color printing and variable data printing capabilities provide an extra layer of security, ensuring these wristbands are counterfeit-proof.
“When guests wear RFID wristbands instead of hassling with a wallet, they are able to make instant purchases with just a quick flick of the wrist, greatly boosting impulse spending,” said Robin Barber, Vice President of Leisure & Entertainment for PDC. “The nation’s leading waterparks have chosen and continue to benefit from PDC as their RFID wristband supplier including Great Wolf Resorts, Water World, Schlitterbahn, and Cedar Fair’s Wild Water Kingdom.”
PDC will also demonstrate its self-service, PDC Smart® Wristband Kiosk that prints and dispenses RFID wristbands. The PDC Smart® Wristband Kiosk enables patrons to purchase admissions, load funds onto their RFID wristbands, rent lockers or tubes, and more. The kiosk helps reduce labor costs by eliminating the need for additional staff, and speeds up transactions to reduce lines and wait times.
In support of the waterpark industry, PDC is a gold sponsor of the WWA Symposium and Trade Show, and is the official wristband sponsor for the WWA Annual Reunion Part at the Paris Hotel.
